Basic care for the Anthurium

Anthurium is a popular indoor plant, with it’s glossy green leaves and an impressive red or white flower.

At what point should we place Anthurium?

The Anthurium needs to be placed in a light spot but not in direct sunlight. The plant is sensitive to draught and should not be placed right next to a radiator.

What water requirements does it have?

It is best to water your plant moderately and regularly with some tepid water once a week. Keep the soil moist (brown), it should not be dry or too wet (black).

Basic care for the cyclamen

Cyclamen is favorite perennial plant with flowers that appear from autumn to late spring, in pink,red,purple,white while there are cyclamen with two colored flowers. Ideal plant to plant in pots in gardens, in balconies, in courtyards and parks to give us its rich flowering.

What watering and lubrication requirements does the cyclamen have?

During the autumn cyclamen need regular watering. Be careful not to wet the leaves and stalks of the cyclamen when watering especially on the hot days of autumn to avoid rotting. You can water the cyclamen by placing it in a basin of water until you see the surface of the pot moisten. With regard of lubrication we recommend the addition of liquid flowering feltirizer once a month during the blooming period. Also to encourage the bloom of the plant it is important to cut the flowers that are weakening.

And a secret to the cyclamen:

Once the blossomin of cyclamen is over, the leaves turn yellow and fall as the plant enters dormancy in the summer months. We stop watering of the cyclamen and clean the rotten leaves. Then place the pot with the cyclamen in a shady place for the summer season. In the beginning of the autumn when the high summer temperatures have past start watering it again in order for its new vegetation to emerge and to give us its new flowering.

Basic care for the orchid

Orchids are one of the most enchating flowers, with a very distinct flower and is not unfair to characterize it as <>. The orchid is an epiphytic that is it grows in roots on other plants (such as pines) without harming it by living from the nutrients of the atmosphere. In recent years it has grown mainly in the home and is offered as a gift in interiors such as homes and offices. But how we can keep orchid in our home:

light: Orchids love light. It takes 12 to 14 hours of indirect light every day throughout the year. if the hours of the day are not enough, we place it in a space that often lights up. Be careful not to directly hit the sunlight.

water: Orchid requires poor watering (once a week). Fill the pot with water and leave the orchid for about 20 minutes. Then we remove the orchid from the pot, throw all the water and let the orchid drain. Finally we put it back in the pot. Beware most orchids can tolerate drought much better than they can tolerate excessive moisture.

ground: Since our orchid grows in pine bark, we take care to trasplant it (if necessary) into a larger pot using pine bark. If our orchid is planted in soil then it is one of a few speces that is not epiphytic and we will need special soil.
